Houston Life Insurance Policy

What exactly is the policy when it comes to Life Insurance?

Melinda

Houston, TX

Hello, Melinda!

The policy is the most important part of life insurance, whatever kind it may be – No Exam, Smokers Life Insurance, Term Life, Whole Life, Universal Life, etc. simply because all the conditions as well as the provisions are written on the policy. Aside from this, it also serves as the contract between you and the company or insurer. The contract details terms and conditions, and the provisions are all stated on the policy.  You need to have a policy when placing a claiming on your life insurance.  Because without the policy, your claims might not be easily accommodated by the company. The policy will serve as your basis in claiming benefits from a life insurance policy. Besides, how can you get something if you don’t have any evidence to back up your claims? As I have said Melinda, the policy will be your proof in making such claims.

Smokers Life Insurance Houston

I am a smoker will that effect my rates?
Ann
Houston, TX.
Ann,
Yes, smokers life insurance is usually more expensive than nonsmokers. In fact smoking is such an unhealthy habit that smokers should be aware that they may be rejected by some insurance companies entirely. Smoking has been a chief concern for many years, with educative and persuasive techniques employed to encourage the public to quit.
Last year’s public smoking ban this is another area in which smokers are being specifically targeted. Premiums for non-smokers have slowly fallen in the last few years whereas those for smokers have risen sharply, some estimates claim that smoking policy holders are paying up to 100% more than their non-smoking counterparts.
Great Question.

Smokers Life Insurance Houston Texas

Is it hard to get Smokers Life Insurance if I have smoked for years?

Tina

Dallas, TX.

Tina,

Just because you smoke or use tobacco does not mean life insurance is not affordable. Usually, when you are applying for life insurance, the agent or application will inquire about your smoking habits, and ask you if you are or have smoked in the previous 12-72 months. Typically you will be asked if you have used tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, dip, snuff and chewing tobacco during this time period. If you enjoy a good cigar from time to time or smoke just two cigarettes year, you are a smoker by insurance standards, even though the nicotine traces won’t show up in your required urine test.

Therefore, smokers  life insurance is a very competitive business these days. Consumers have more information than they used to with TV ads and internet life insurance company websites. You have choices, and because of this, a little competitive shopper can help you find the best available rates for your situation.

Interesting question Tina.  Hope you have found this website able to answer your question.
